At the ATCC, PEG-4000 is stored at 2°C to 8°C, but the reagent may be stored at room temperature.
Applications
PEG-4000 is used to assist in the fusion of myeloma and spleen cells to form hybridomas.

Quality Control Specifications
Each lot is tested for bacterial and fungal contamination. Cytotoxicity testing is performed on NS-1 cells at a 40% w/v concentration. Cells must remain greater than 80% viable after exposure to PEG.
