YRp17 transforms yeast at high frequencies and is mitotically unstable.
A general purpose replicating Saccharomyces cerevisiae/Escherichia coli shuttle vector.
YRp17 differs from YRp12 by the loss of the EcoRI site adjacent to the ampR gene. YRp12 was constructed from YIp5 (ATCC 37061) by inserting a 1.45 kb EcoRI TRP1-ARS1 fragment.
