Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): BamHI/EcoRI--2.8, 2.6; EcoRI--5.4; HindIII--2.9, 2.5; KpnI--5.4; SalI--5.4. The insert includes the following restriction sites (approximate kb from the 5' end): PvuII--0.12, 0.76, 1.38, 1.45, 2.23; ApaI--0.78; PstI--0.88, 1.40, 1.78, 2.3; SacI--0.89, 1.39; BglII--1.61; HindIII--2.48. A HindIII/SphI digestion produces fragments of 1.630 kb (without tails) and 0.855 kb (with a GC tail). The XbaI site at nt 4730 of the reported sequence does not cut. Extends from nt 2641 to 5296 of the reported sequence, encoding part of domains I and III and all of domains II and alpha. |
